Terms & Conditions of Membership

Required Documents

A recent proof of address (dated within the last three months) and a proof of ID.

Membership

Membership entitles you to:

  • Have access to the full catalogue of the library (Back Catalogue and New Releases included) and borrow 3 films at any given time.
  • FREE access to all our Repertory Cinema screenings and discounts on film events.

Your debit/credit card will be automatically charged £10 every month from your joining date. (We will keep your card details in accordance to PCI DSS requirements). Alternatively you can pay £60 by cash for a 6 month membership.

Cancellation Policy
You may cancel this automatic billing authorization anytime after your first payment and prior to the next renewal date of payment, under the condition that all films have been returned and all other charges are paid. Cancellation can be made in person at CLOSE-UP, by written request or by email (please write to cancellation@closeupfilmcentre.com). We do not issue refunds.
Note that we will automatically renew your membership payment if you have not returned all films 1 day before the renewal date, and we will automatically charge you for any late fees remaining on your account prior to the cancellation of it.

Pay-As-You-Go

Each DVD costs £3. You can get any 3 DVDs for £6.

Loan Times and Overdue Fines

New Releases are due back the following evening at 8.30pm. All other films must be returned after 3 days and before 8.30pm. Any late returns will result in additional charges: £3 per day for New Releases, £1 per day for all other films. All late charges must be paid before any further loan.

Card, Password and Guests

Your Memberrship card and password are strictly personal. Proof of I.D. may be requested should you not produce your card.
You can add one guest to your account, but you will remain responsible for any person authorised to use your account. Any fees or charges on the account will have to be paid before further loans, regardless of who has incurred them.

Care of DVDs and Viewing Problems

All films remain the property of Close-Up Film Centre Ltd. Once on loan the care of the film becomes the responsibility of the member until the film is returned to the library.
Each DVD returned that presented a viewing problem will be checked by a member of staff. Once checked and if the disc is at fault the DVD will be repaired or replaced (A credit will be given to pay-as-you-go customers only). We do not offer refunds. We cannot accept any responsibility for problems associated with playing discs on PCs, or consoles, or the unlikely event of Hardware being damaged while playing our films.
We reserve the right to charge costs incurred in replacing any DVD damaged, lost or stolen while in the member/customer's care. All films will be charged at the current retail price.

We reserve the right, from time to time, with or without notice to you, to change these Terms and Conditions at our sole discretion.
