20 - 21 November 2015: Begotten with Live Score

Begotten
Elias Merhige
1990 | 72 min | B/W | 16mm

We are delighted to present a rare screening of Elias Merhige's Begotten with live accompaniment. Presenting birth, life and death as an endless procession of the damned, crawling through filth to a new aeon, Elias Merhige's haunting, atavistic Begotten has been described by Susan Sontag as "one of the 10 most important films of modern times". These 16mm film screenings will be accompanied by The Begotten’s live, improvised soundtrack for guitar, voice and electronics. The Begotten are William Fowler, Justin Harries, Mark Pilkington and Jo Fisher Roberts.
