We’re proud to mark the third anniversary of our cinema with the launch of Schtinter’s Liberated Film Club scratch card book and a screening of Abbas Kiarostami’s radical masterpiece Close-Up.

Programme 2: Close-Up

Abbas Kiarostami’s fiction-documentary hybrid, Close-Up, uses a sensational real-life event as the basis for a stunning, multilayered investigation into movies, identity, artistic creation, and existence, in which the real people from the case play themselves. Screened here with Nanni Moretti’s short film – shot at his cinema in Rome – capturing a series of moments before the premiere of Close-Up. read more
