Synopsis
Harrington is interviewed by
Amy Greenfield (editor of the book
Curtis Harrington: Cinema on the Edge) at length about his history in film, beginning with his very early years as a student at the university of Southern California, where he met and befriended fellow filmmaker
Kenneth Anger.
Harrington tells extraordinary anecdotes, including a story about a joint screening that he and Anger held at a private party in Hollywood, at which their films caused great shock to an audience of certain celebrity, including
John Cage, who rejected the films out of hand!
Harrington also discusses his travels to Paris, where he lived for some time and met
Jean Cocteau, among others. The humor and levity with which
Harrington relates the ups and downs of his long career in and around Hollywood make watching this interview an adventure in itself.
