GUO present GYUTO, a new audiovisual performance created in collaboration with American filmmaker Brady Corbet. The event coincides with the release of their latest LP GUO4 (out now on Mute) and the UK premiere of Peter Strickland's accompanying GUO4 film at London Film Festival on 10 October.

GUO is a multidisciplinary duo formed of Daniel Blumberg and Seymour Wright. Eschewing musical influences in favour of the written word, images and the techniques of cooking, the resulting work layers and synthesises circuits of alto saxophone, electric guitar, feedback and metal distortion. On GUO4, their first release for Mute, the pair have collaborated with Crystabel Riley (drums), Fran Edgerly [Assemble] (text) and Peter Strickland (video).

Daniel Blumberg is a musician and artist from London. Blumberg’s debut album on Mute, Minus, was made with violinist Billy Steiger, double bassist Tom Wheatley and drummer Jim White (Dirty Three, Xylouris White). He has composed music for BFI / Curzon’s Agnés Varda season Gleaning Truths, and exhibited at Union Gallery (London) and Deichtorhallen (Hamburg).

Seymour Wright is a musician and writer working in London. Wright’s work is about the creative, situated friction of learning, ideas, people and the saxophone – music, history and technique – actual and potential. As well as working closely with Blumberg, recent collaborations have included projects with Crystabel Riley (Maria and The Mirrors), footwork founder RPBoo, drummer Paul Abbott (as the XT duo) and writer Nathaniel Mackey.
