Close-Up is delighted to present Cyril Schäublin's Unrest, celebrating the release of Li Tavor's Polyphonie Anarchisteon the purge.xxx record label.
Winner of the Encounters Award for Best Director at the Berlin Film Festival, writer-director-editor Cyril Schäublin’s second feature is a creative and intellectually invigorating tale about anarchism and the march of global capitalism. New technologies are transforming a 19th-century watchmaking town in Switzerland. Josephine, a young factory worker, produces the unrest wheel, swinging in the heart of the mechanical watch. Exposed to new ways of organizing money, time and labour, she gets involved with the local anarchist movement.
Li Tavor's Polyphonie Anarchiste is a revolutionary chant drawn from the film, sung by a unionising woman's group and based on Charles Keller's 1877 text titled L'Ouvrier n'a pas de patrie: chant international.
