Synopsis

The story about a man and his struggle for the realisation of his creative ideas, but most importantly about one building – the new Latvian National Library’s destiny. Poetic minimalism of the film traces the construction of the new building: from the empty and abandoned building-site to the much-discussed silhouette of the Castle of Light. Watching the construction work and arranging it in visual symphony, filmmakers have noticed the mythological and ritual procedures. Thus, creating associations with the highest spiritual buildings – temples – the construction of the past history.
