Shapes

Shapes

Synopsis

"Human forms in Shapes dance to J.S. Bach's breakneck runs on the harpsichord. However the animated stenciled spray paintings of plump discus throwers and wiry girls quickly confuse our culturally conditioned eye: What's male, what's female? The music quickens. As they dance in a sped-up micro-evolution, their movements become increasingly voluptuous, their bodies fuller more: feminine it would seem, but who could say in this case?" – Maya McKechneay

"Silhouettes of human figures move following baroque-music (Johann Sebastian Bach)." – Maria Lassnig
