The Library’s collection of over 17,000 titles specialises in early cinema, classics, world cinema, documentaries, experimental films, video art and independent films. It includes rare films exclusive to Close-Up and by independent filmmakers not represented by distributors.
We are delighted to announce the opening of our book library, specialising in film studies. The catalogue ranges from film theory, criticism and practice to history, biography and reviews.
After extending the loan time of films, we are now able to facilitate even further access to our resources for students, lecturers and film enthusiasts alike who do not live near our library or need to browse through films for their research. You can now come at the library and use the video booth from 12 - 10pm every day of the week!
To complement its library, Close-Up's online resource includes thousands of entries related to cinema and the moving image, ranging from texts, videos, and audio documents.
